The NFSTP Food Handler Certification meets National and Provincial Certification Requirements.

 

Section 31 of the Alberta Public Health Act Food Regulation, which states:

 

·    If six or more food handlers are working on the premises at one time, at least one manager who has successfully  completed food sanitation training approved by the Health Minister must be on site at all times.

·    If five or fewer are working, at least one manager must have approved training.

·    Owners of more than one establishment must employ a separate manager with approved training for each site.

 

Provincial Certification: To obtain certification, course participants must obtain 70% or greater on the written exam,     which gives you a 5-year NFSTP wallet card certification that is recognized by all health regions acrossCanada.

·    Facilities and Equipment Design

·    Control of Hazards Following the Flow of Food (HACCP)

·    Sanitation and Pest Control

·    Employee and Visitor Issues
